Stationary vortices in three - dimensional
An existence theorem for localised stationary vortex solutions in an external shear ow is proved for three-dimensional quasigeostrophic ow in an unbounded domain. The external ow is a linear shear ow whose strength varies linearly with height. The ow conserves an in nite family of Casimir integrals. Flows that have the same value of all Casimir integrals are called isovortical ows, and the pote...
متن کاملThe Stability of Magnetic Vortices
W e study the linearized stability of -vortex ( ) solutions of the magnetic Ginzb urg–Landau (or Abelian Higgs) equations. We prove that the fundamental vortices ( 1) are stable for all values of the coupling constant, , and we prove that the higher -degree vortices ( 2) are stable for 1, and unstable for 1. This resolves a long-standing conjecture (see, eg, [JT]).
متن کاملSynthesis of Three-Layered Magnetic Based Nanostructure for Clinical Application
The main objective of this research was to synthesize and characterize gold-coated Fe3O4 /SiO2 nanoshells for clinical applications. Magnetite nanoparticles (NPs) were prepared via co-precipitation. The results showed that smaller particles can be synthesized by decreasing the NaOH concentration, which in our case this corresponded to 35 nm by using 0.9 M of NaOH at 750 rpm. The NPs were then m...
متن کاملRotating magnetic solution in three dimensional Einstein gravity
We obtain the magnetic counterpart of the BTZ solution, i.e., the rotating spacetime of a point source generating a magnetic field in three dimensional Einstein gravity with a negative cosmological constant. The static (non-rotating) magnetic solution was found by Clément, by Hirschmann and Welch and by Cataldo and Salgado. This paper is an extension of their work in order to include (i) angula...
متن کاملEffective Dynamics of Magnetic Vortices S . Gustafson ,
We study solutions of Ginzburg-Landau-type evolution equations (both dissipative and Hamiltonian) with initial data representing collections of widely-spaced vortices. We show that for long times, the solutions continue to describe collections of vortices, and we identify (to leading order in the vortex separation) the dynamical system describing the motion of the vortex centres (effective dyna...
